The International Meeting of Composers in Chile is a biennial that has been taking place from 2004.This event is important specially in the musical education of young composers, because the relation between the students and outstanding creators generate discussion, reflection and critics related to contemporary music.     Furthermore, it is a biennial that creates new possibilities for students’ interchange. Some Chilean young composers have had the opportunity to get advanced composition studies abroad: Daniel Osorio and Javier Party (with Theo Brandmüller in Germany), José Manuel Gatica (with Silvio Ferraz in Brazil). .
